ABOUT MOOTSS

MOOTSS was born and raised in Suriname. He chose to study in the Netherlands and has lived in the Netherlands since 2008. He has now obtained his bachelor’s degree in international business and management. When he was studying he took up his old hobby and was busy designing various illustrations.

Due to his studies, these were mainly focused on marketing. When his friends noticed his work, they asked Mootss to make them tattoo designs. This is where his passion for the profession started. Mootss has now been working as a tattoo artist for 6 years and it is clear that this is his great talent. It is amazing to see how he translates your wish into reality.

SPACES

As an artist, I find it very important to put my heart and soul in all of my artwork. I strive to give 100% of my focus and effort in every one of my art projects.

In my opinion, your environment plays a substantial part during such progress. When a client books a session with me, I want to be able to give them my full attention without any external interruptions. Think of people who randomly enter tattoo shops to ask questions and the artists are interrupted during their “creative process”. At that moment, we want to create a “Masterpiece”. That can only be achieved when +100% of their focus and effort is given. To eliminate that problem, some artists (like me) choose to work in a private studio rather than a tattoo-shop or -parlor.

AFTERCARE

For me, as an artist, a tattoo is an individual and permanent piece of body art. But what we can not overlook the reality that it is also a type of wound, as a needle injects ink deep into the skin while penetrating it.

And just like paintings hanging unharmed for years in galleries, proper tattoo aftercare is an important part of maintaining a beautiful piece of body art.

The aftercare period can be a bit confusing, particularly if it’s your first tattoo. This “after-care” guide should offer short and detailed instructions and tips for keeping the tattooed skin looking fresh and young.

    FAQ

    Frequently Asked Questions

HOW DO I BOOK AN APPOINTMENT?

Once you’ve chosen what you want, you can send a detailed email or Whatsapp message with a description of the concept idea, visual (photo) references, and your desired dates to schedule.

Please include your phone number and email. This way will allow us to process your request swiftly and efficiently.

Note: We schedule our appointments for a maximum of three months in advance.

HOW OLD DO I HAVE TO BE TO GET A TATTOO?

You must be a minimum of 18yrs. It is against our ethical/moral code to tattoo a minor. In accordance with our values, we have a strict No Minors policy, even with parental consent. Not only must you be 18, you need to provide a valid Government Photo ID (passport, driver’s license, or ID card). No exceptions.

HOW MUCH DOES A TATTOO COST?

The actual price depends on the artist. The starting rate is 50 euros. The final price depends on the size, design detail, and body location where the tattoo will be placed. Some artists have a minimum billing, which varies per project.

HOW CAN I GET A PRICE RANGE?

The best way to get an accurate price range is by booking a (free!) consultation —if not in person, then through a brief detailed email or phone call.

In order for us to assess your idea, we need to consider the subject, size, placement on the body, detail, etc.

You are also welcome to apply for a consultation and discuss your idea with us.

We’re more than thrilled to help make your artistic vision come to life.

    HOW DO I SCHEDULE A WALK-IN APPOINTMENT?

Generally, we DONT take “walk-ins” because our agenda is booked a few months in advance.

“Walk-in” means an appointment is not needed. A “cancelation walk-in” will be offered on a first-come, first-served basis with cancellation availability permitting. We will always do our best to accommodate your request.

    DOES IT HURT?

Yes! But positively. When you are getting a tattoo, your brain releases a substance called endorphins. Your body loves endorphins, so yes, it hurts, but your body kind of likes it at the same time.

HOW LONG DOES A TATTOO TAKE TO HEAL?

It takes two weeks to “heal”, however the skin needs about 2 to 3 months to regenerate completely.

HOW DO I CARE FOR MY NEW TATTOO?

Every tattoo artist/-shop has its care methods. You will be given a clear explanation. Furthermore, you will be given an instruction card with the instructions clearly stated as a reminder in the future.

WHAT FORMS OF PAYMENT ARE ACCEPTED?

We allow cash or through bank transfers.

DO I NEED TO LEAVE A DEPOSIT IF I DECIDE TO SCHEDULE AN APPOINTMENT?

Amen. A deposit minimum of 25% required to

make an appointment. Deposits are insurance that the artist keeps time free for you on the decided date. The artist can start spending time on the concept design. Deposits are non-refundable and included in the final price of your tattoo.

HOW SHOULD I PREPARE FOR MY TATTOO?

Our advice is to eat well before you get a tattoo, and stay hydrated. If you start feeling woozy, get a soda or candy. In this situation, sugar is life.

Furthermore, it’s most helpful not to drink alcohol the night before because alcohol Sugar thins your blood for up to 24 hours. Blood also thins our ink pigments, affecting both the appearance result of your tattoo as well as the healing process of it. Remember, be calm and cool, there’s nothing to stress over— enjoy the process of making “ART”.
